The craftsman retired, this kokeshi is unfortunately no longer made.
Machiharu means "waiting for spring" which explains her sleepy air. Wrapped in a pretty blanket with flowers, she is waiting for the blooming of cherry flowers (the famous sakura), which is very appreciated by Japanese because annoucing the spring coming.
