Hi-no-yōjin Neko

New

Height: 7 cm (2.76 in)

Handmade and hand-painted in Mino, Japan

Hi-no-yōjin can be translated as 'Be careful with fire'. This black cat wants to remind you to pay attention to the danger of fire.
He holds in his hands two wooden clappers that he strikes as he calls out "Hi-no-yōjin!" Wooden clappers are struck as a call for attention, as when the names of sumo wrestlers are announced before a bout or in kabuki before a suspenseful scene.

Please note that these statues are handmade so they may slightly differ from the photographs.
