With their golden arrangement, these beautiful chopsticks are representing the glory of the former capital of the urushi art and its prolific presence during the Kamakura Period (1185-1333).

Japanese urushi lacquer is made from the sap of the urushi tree, a tradition dating back to the Jomon period (6000BC).
Laquered objects (Shikki) are sensitive to a direct exposure to sunlight. These products cannot be used in microwaves and cannot be washed in dishwasher. Urushi products should be quickly dried  after washing.
