A very beautiful set of chopsticks dedicated to couples. The word 'meotobashi' means 'married couple chopsticks' but can of course be offered on other occasions. The gold leaf pattern represent the popular sakura, the cherry blossom loved by the Japanese..
The urushi lacquer guarantees an elegant finish.

Japanese urushi lacquer is made from the sap of the urushi tree, a tradition dating back to the Jomon period (6000BC).
Laquered objects (Shikki) are sensitive to a direct exposure to sunlight. These products cannot be used in microwaves and cannot be washed in dishwasher. Urushi products should be dried  after washing.
