This majestic torii is adorned with a beautiful shimenawa (braided straw), creating an ensemble inspired by Izumo-taisha, one of the most sacred shrines in Japan.

The torii is made from hinoki, the Japanese cypress renowned for its woody and slightly citrusy fragrance.
The shimenawa is made by the artisans of the workshop specialising in the creation of large shimenawa following the “kaiun-jime” style.
It is made with rice straw from Shimane Prefecture, harvested from the same rice fields as the large shimenawa of the sacred Kaguraden pavilion at Izumo-taisha Shrine.
