The Kokeshi doll Jokamachi is a Japanese handicraft of the Shingata type, carved from dogwood and measuring 15 cm in height. Its name, meaning Castle-town, evokes the ancient administrative and commercial cities that developed at the foot of medieval Japanese castles. Each piece is handmade and hand-painted, reflecting traditional Japanese craftsmanship.
