Both beautiful and original this tea cup has its outer surface painted with the Japanese traditional red (called Shu) with a brushed style.
The blue drawing on white background inside the cup represents some branches of Nanten (nandina), a very common tree in Japan. It produces numerous small red berries and is considered as a lucky tree.
