F-Zero is a futuristic racing video game developed and published by Nintendo for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. Released in the early 1990s, players control one of four hovercars and race through 15 tracks divided into three leagues. The story is set in the year 2560, when multi-billionaires create a new form of entertainment called "F-Zero" based on Formula One racing.

The game is praised for its fast and challenging gameplay, variety of tracks, and its extensive use of the innovative Mode 7 graphics mode. F-Zero set the standard for the racing genre's futuristic subgenre, reinvigorating the genre and inspiring many subsequent racing games.
