This cup has a rough soil texture on its outer surface that contrasts nicely with the light green and smooth edge and interior. The outer surface forms a spiral while the inside is smooth.
Hiwa in Japanese is a specie of sparrow which has wings with green tints. Kannyu is a pottery technique of vitrification which allows to obtain cracks thanks to a shrinking during the heating process.
This technique was used on the green part to create many cracks.
